What happens after one fat-freezing session?
One session is the start of a gradual process, not an instant change. At 3D Lipo London we use the Sculpt Pro Cryo Quattro for cryolipolysis. Sculpt Pro describes the system as using 360° cooling applicators and Quattro technology that can operate multiple applicators at the same time. The number and size of applicators used for you depends on the treatment area and your consultation.
Immediately afterwards, temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising or altered sensation can occur. The FDA's cryolipolysis guidance also lists these as recognised post-treatment effects and notes that numbness can sometimes persist for several weeks.
When should I expect a visible change?
Fat freezing works gradually. The FDA explains that material from damaged fat cells is slowly cleared by the body's immune system, usually over about two to three months. Some people notice change earlier, while others need longer. A fair result assessment therefore should not be made immediately after treatment.

Will one session be enough?
Not necessarily. The amount of pinchable fat, the area treated, applicator placement, your individual response and the result you want all affect whether another session is appropriate. We do not promise a fixed percentage reduction or a fixed number of sessions for everybody.
What should I do after treatment?
Most people return to ordinary day-to-day activities, but comfort should guide exercise and activity if the area is sore or numb. Do not stop prescribed medicines or take new painkillers/supplements specifically for fat-freezing aftercare without appropriate medical advice. See our full fat-freezing aftercare guide.

Consultation booking: An in-person consultation requires a £30 booking deposit. The deposit is fully redeemable against treatment and refundable after you attend if you decide not to proceed. Please give at least 72 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. A no-show loses the £30 deposit and rebooking requires a new £30 deposit. Late arrival may shorten the appointment.
How to interpret fat-freezing results
Before-and-after photographs are most useful when they use similar posture, lighting, camera angle and timing. Individual results vary with treatment area, applicator placement, starting tissue thickness and the number of sessions, so one client’s result should not be treated as a guarantee.

How to decide whether another session is appropriate
One appointment may be enough for some clients to notice a useful change, while others may choose a further session after the treated area has had time to settle. The decision should be based on the remaining pinchable fat, the original goal and the follow-up assessment rather than booking repeated sessions automatically.
Because cryolipolysis changes develop gradually, photographs and measurements are more useful when taken at a consistent interval. The fat-freezing results timeline explains why an immediate judgement can be misleading.
Temporary effects versus an unexpected problem
Temporary redness, tenderness, numbness, sensitivity or swelling can occur after treatment. Follow the clinic's aftercare advice and contact the clinic if something feels unusual, severe or does not settle as expected. The aim of aftercare is not to force a faster result but to let the treated area recover normally while the gradual process takes place.
